Located in the heart of Copenhagen’s Old Town, on the historic Rådhusstræde, Kunsten på Kroppen is a renowned tattoo shop dedicated to cultural, historical, and traditional tattooing motifs and techniques. History and legacy:

Established in 1988 by the visionary artist Erik Reime, Kunsten på Kroppen has been a prominent figure in the tattooing community for over three decades. Erik’s innovative dot-shadowing technique, which he developed and perfected, revolutionized the industry and has now become its own category. Our shop has been an integral part of Rådhusstræde since 1992, providing a unique and inspiring space for both artists and clients.
In the beginning of 2023 Violeta and Anne Ravn become the owners of Kunsten på Kroppen, after its second owner Kai Uwe Faust retired.

All our artists have undergone an artist hygiene course, ensuring that every aspect of our shop adheres to the highest standard of hygiene regulations. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.

Currently working at Kunsten på Kroppen:

– Violeta, who began her journey at the shop in 2016 as a tattoo and handpoke enthusiast under the guidance of her main teacher, Kai Uwe Faust. Specializing in handpoke and other traditional techniques, Violeta brings a deep focus on sacred geometry, historical, folklore, and cultural designs. She has now become a part-owner of Kunsten på Kroppen, sharing her passion and expertise with our valued clients.
– Nicolaj, a talented artist whose style of tattooing primarily focuses on ornamental, tribal, and blackwork designs. Nicolaj aims to interweave various art forms and cultures, using tattooing as a language to express a sense of oneness between us all. With a personal journey that started in a shamanic community in Guatemala, Nicolaj practices both modern and ancient methods of tattooing, including machine and handpoke techniques.

Events and happenings:

While we primarily work with our talented in-house artists, we occasionally host guest artists who specialize in different techniques and forms of body art. These guest artists bring fresh perspectives and allow us to expand our creative horizons, providing you with even more options for your tattooing journey.
